At least Ten people killed while 12 others are injured when a powerful blast hit Quetta

At least Ten people killed while 12 others are injured when a powerful blast hit Quetta on Friday. DIG Quetta Nazeer Kurd said that the blast occurred near residence of former federal minister Naseer Mengal and more casualties feared in the attack. Police have cordoned off the area. Nearby houses and buildings were partially destroyed and caught fire due to the blast at Arbab Karam road. All the injured have been shifted to nearby civil hospital and Bolan Medical Hospital.
The blast took place inside the house of Shafiq Mengal, who is the son of former minister Naseer Mengal. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Nazir Kurd confirmed that Shafiq Mengal was present at home when the incident occurred and that he was safe.
Eye witnesses said that firing could be heard in the area after the blast.
Electricity cables in the area were disconnected as a result of the blast.
