MULTAN,May 6th:More than 300 activists took part in the demonstration of Islamist parties and civil society organisation" Mutahidda Shehr Mahaz" on friday .Civil Society and influential Islamist parties Jamaat Islami and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam organised demonstrations in Multan city on friday and burnt the US flag to demand their government withdraw its support of the US war on militancy after US commandos killed Osama bin Laden in Abbotabad.Mutahidda Shehri Mahaz staged a demonstration at Chungi No.9 under the leadership of Tariq Naeem-ullah Khan and Shahid Mehmood Khan,MPA of PML-N and they burnt the US flag and participants shouted slogans "Down with Amerca," Down with US allies," Osama zindabad ," Hukamrano Sharam Karo- Ghairat Khao," Dollars key Liye Naak Na Katao,"while JI &JUI demonstration led by local clerics Rao Zafar Iqbal,Iftikhar Chaudhry,Khurshid Abbas Gardezi. JI leaders said USA had violated the sovereignty of key ally Pakistan by sending its own forces into the garrison town of Abbottabad to kill the al Qaeda leader.Pakistan is taking part in war against terrorism and also fighting against the Taliban in Tribal areas and Afghanistan.
“Even if there was any sympathy for the yankees that would dissipate after the way they crushed and violated Pakistan's sovereignty and independence,” JI leaders said. They demanded that Pakistan should withdraw from the war on terror as anti-American sentiment runs high in Pakistan.Absentia funeral prayer was offered in Kotadu by the religious parties after friday prayers which was attended by more than 200 people.Participants also shouted slogans in favour of Osama.

Hundreds took to the streets of Pakistan’s city of Quetta on Monday to pay homage to Osama bin Laden, chanting death to America and setting fire to a US flag, witnesses and organisers said.
Angry participants belonging to a religious party in Quetta, the capital of southwestern province Baluchistan, were led by federal lawmaker Maulawi Asmatullah. They also torched a US flag before dispersing peacefully.
It was the first rally in Pakistan after the United States announced that bin Laden had been killed in an overnight commando mission in Pakistan.
Organisers said between 1,000 and 1,200 people attended the rally, but witnesses put the figure closer to 800.
“Bin Laden was the hero of the Muslim world and after his martyrdom he has won the title of great mujahed (Muslim fighter),” Asmatullah said.

The residents of Southern Punjab have refused to accept this increase in the petrol prices. After the announcement of increase in petrol prices the owners of various petrol pumps have suspended the supply of diesel and petrol. Public is facing a lot of difficulties due to this.
The masses are of the view that whenever there is an increase in petrol prices, it is done in rupees but when the government has to decrease the petrol prices it is done in paisas, which is not at all justice.
People of Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Jhang, Bahawalpur, Quetta, Peshawar and in various other cities have completely rejected the current increase in petroleum prices by the government.
The protesting masses demanded from the government that it should change its policies and take back the decision of this current increase in the petroleum products.
The leader of Muslim league (N) Mian Nawaz Sharif said that the increase in petroleum products would increase inflation in the country and the difficulties of poor masses would also increase.
Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is of the view that the poor and middle class of our country would be directly affected by this increase in the petroleum products.
Imran Khan while talking to media said that increasing the petroleum prices is an act of crime on the part of government.

MULTAN,April 16th:A large number of clerics and seminary students staged a rally here today in protest at the killing of Bahraini protesters and in support of the popular uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa. The rally led by Allama Syed Zameer-ul-Hassan Naqvi, Maulana Mujahid Abbas Gardezi began from Delhi gate which was to be terminated at Chowk Daulat gate but law enforcing agencies did not let them go there in view of security problem The clerics shouted slogans in condemnation of the foreign countries’ intervention in the Islamic countries’ affairs and massacre of Muslims especially in Bahrain.Addressing the demonstrators they said “All Muslims around the world, whether Shia or Sunni, must support the oppressed Muslims using any means,” They also condemned the silence of international and Islamic organizations about the massacre of Bahrainis.They also said that the arrogant powers should know that the era of their bullying in the Middle East has come to an end and they don’t have any place in this region any more.They also strongly disapproved the massacre of Libyan and Bahraini protesters and the military intervention of Saudi Arabia in Bahrain.Today all Islamic nations including the Saudi Arabian people are outraged at the terrible oppression of the Bahraini people by the Saudi forces and call for an immediate pullout of Saudi troops from Bahrain, the Shia scholars said. | |
