Foremer foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi resigned from NA & PPP

Former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has tendered resignation from PPP membership and from the National Assembly asking others who feel pain for the country and particularly the opposition to follow his suit and start struggle for fresh elections under an independent election commission.
Qureshi announced this while addressing a press conference here in Islamabad Monday evening saying he was leaving his two decades long association with the PPP due to misgovernance and corruption of President Zardari.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said he wanted to announce his resignation from the floor of the National Assembly but was not allowed to speak and announce his decision to revolt against Zardari. He said the parliament has lost its utility as it has failed to get its own consensus resolutions implemented.
He said the present PPP is not PPP of Shaheed Mohtarma BB, its Zardari League. He further said that Zardari had buried politics of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto alongwith her.
Qureshi said Zardari has betrayed vision of Mohtarma and as such he don't want to be part of Zardari league.
Expressing concern over PPP alliance with PML-Q, the former minister said it is against Charter of Democracy (CoD).
He said Gilani government has failed in reviving the economy of Pakistan, poverty, unemployment and inflation are rising and relations with IMF have been broken.
He said the Prime Minister talks too much of the rights of Southern Punjab and questioned as to why the entire Saraiki belt is protesting? He said the reason is that the farmers are not getting due price of their Phutti.
Qureshi also strongly criticized the performance of the government saying one thousand billion rupees have been wasted in granting bail out packages to Railways, Pakistan Steel, PI and WAPDA. He said the restructuring plan of strategic assets given by Shaukat Tarin has been thrown into the waste papers basket. Former Foreign Minister who has lot of followers in Sindh said he will announce his political decision from Ghotki on 27th November.
