Air-strike,45 militants were killed ,15 injured

As clashes between security forces and militants continued in Kurram and Orakzai agencies on Wednesday, officials claimed that 45 militants were killed in ground action and air strikes.
Reports reaching here said that two security personnel were killed, 15 were injured and three were missing. Bodies of the three missing soldiers were later found.
Clashes erupted after an insurgent attack in Jugai area of central Kurram.
There was a heavy exchange of fire in which two soldiers were killed and nine were injured. According to official reports, 20 militants were killed.
Another 16 militants were killed when helicopter gunships attacked militant hideouts in Gawaza and Gawaki areas. Three soldiers also went missing during the action whose bodies were later found.
There was no independent confirmation of the death tolls. Militants often dispute the government’s version of events.
Army and Frontier Corps, backed by combat helicopters, launched last week an offensive in central Kurram and in adjacent Orakzai Agency, considered to be strongholds of militants.
According to official claims, over 200 militants have been killed in the offensive.
In clashes in the upper tehsil of Orakzai, officials claimed nine militants were killed and three injured. Six security personnel also suffered injuries and were taken to the combined military hospital in Kohat.
Officials said a vehicle loaded with weapons and ammunition had been destroyed.
