An Agricultural Officer was shot dead in Quetta

A government officer was shot dead while his son sustained injuries on Kasi Road of the provincial capital on Friday night. According to the police, a section officer of agriculture Mohammad Idress was sitting along with his son in his shop situated at Kasi Road when some unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire. Resultantly, Mohammad Idress died on the spot and his son identified as Shakeel sustained bullet injuries. The attackers managed to escape from the scene after committing the crime. Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident and the deceased and injured were taken to the Civil Hospital. “Mohammad Idress received a single bullet in his head which caused his death and his son Shakeel received the bullet in his shoulder,” hospital sources said. A case has been registered against unidentified persons and investigations are underway. No one has claimed responsibility for the killing of the government official.
