Former federal minister for law and Senator Dr Babar Awan on Friday said that the government would implement the Supreme Court verdict over the OSD issue of Establishment Secretary as it had done earlier.Addressing a press conference after meeting with the lawyers delegation of different Bar Associations, he said that the government always respected the constitutional jurisdictions of all the institutions, including judiciary and they would further strengthen them.“Those who want to create confrontation between the institutions will always be disappointed,” he added.Babar said that the PPP-led government has ability to run the institution, besides running the country affairs.
Babar said that backdoor accesses have been closed and the people of Pakistan would never allow any one to play with the Constitution and added that democracy was a continuous process.
He also announced that the government would give good news to the people of Seraiki region regarding their cherished desire.
Answering a query, Babar said that in the past verdicts were given in favour of dictatorship but after the passage of 18th Amendment, those who would favour any ultra constitutional step would be accounted for abrogation of Constitution.
“Those who are wishing for early election should prepare themselves for upcoming Senate polls,” he added.
Babar said the government has amended “Legal Practitioner and Bar Counsel Act” and now Federal, Provincial governments are bound to allocate annual budget for Pakistan Bar Council, Provincial Bar councils’ and the Bar associations.
He reiterated the PPP-led government is committed to the policy of reconciliation, saying that united efforts were needed to overcome challenges confronting the country.
He said the PPP-led government took over the charge in extremely difficult situation, but the democratic government gradually overcame all the financial issues and was able to supplement foreign currency reserves through its prudent financial policies, he added.
Babar said the government is also making effective policy for improving the economy of the country.
He said that country’s nuclear assets are in safe hands.
