Continuous rains in Islamabad since Monday morning caused high flooding in Nulla Lai, Rawalpindi that has now started to decrease, however, two people lost their lives by drowning, Express News reported.
Bodies of 22 and 5-year-old were recovered from Jhanda Chechi bridge and Moti Mehl respectively.
Warning alarms were activated in Rawalpindi when the water level in Nulla Lai reached the danger limit.
The water level at Katarian crossed 16 ft while at Gawalmandi, the level stood at 12 ft.
Army forces were called in for rescue efforts while residents of the close by areas were asked to stay at safer grounds.
The level of flood started to lower down in the afternoon and the met office has predicted that the rains would not cause any more flooding in Nulla Lai.
