The infuriated activists of the People’s Unity on the murder of Aamir Shah forced closure of services at Karachi Jinnah Terminal.
Booking offices, aircrews briefing room and the passenger counters at the Karachi airport had to shut down their services.
This resulted in a prolong delay of local and international flights including flights to Dubai, Dammam and Abu Dhabi.
Scores of flights at Karachi Airport were delayed, which included seven international and 10 domestic flights.
PIA spokesperson said that special PIA officials have been called to the airport and the flights have been rescheduled.
All the flights within and outside the country were late by five to seven hours.
The passengers remained stranded and helplessly waited for the flights to resume.
After 21 hours, PIA started the services and gave much relief to the passengers.
Meanwhile, PIA CBA Chairman Aamir Shah was laid to rest in PIA Township area on Sunday.
He was buried in Model Colony graveyard.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik had taken notice of the killing and directed to constitute an investigation committee to probe Aamir Shah’s killing.
DIG police is head of the committee while police sources said that six alleged accused have been arrested in connection with the murder of Aamir Shah.
