Acid throwing , One killed, ten sustained burns in Awaran and Quetta

A man was gunned down and 10 others received burn injuries in two separate incidents of firing and acid-throwing in Awaran and Quetta on Monday.
In the first incident, Abdul Salam and Abdul Hafeez were on their way in Malshband area of Awaran district when unidentified armed assailants riding a motorbike opened indiscriminate fire on them. Resultantly, Abdul Salam died on the spot and Abdul Hafeez sustained serious injuries.
Police reached the site after getting information and moved deceased and injured to the nearby hospital. The assailants fled from the scene after committing the crime. Motives behind the killing are yet to be ascertained.
Police have registered a case against unidentified people and started investigation into the killing.
Separately, nine people received burn injuries in an acid attack at Pashtunabad area of Quetta.
Police said two neighbours had a dispute over a petty issue and later they attacked each other with acid. Resultantly, nine persons received burn injuries who were later shifted to hospital for treatment. Hospital sources said three serious injured were still under treatment and six others were discharged after medical aid. Police said investigation into the incident was underway.
Meanwhile, Turbat police recovered explosives planted near police station.
Police said the explosives weighing 10-kg were planted close to Turbat Police Station upon which bomb disposal squad was called which defused explosives.
