13 persons have killed and 86 injured as earthquake hit the ferghana

Uzbek authorities say 13 people have been killed in a powerful earthquake that hit the Central Asian nation's heavily populated Ferghana Valley. An magnitude-6.2 temblor centered in neighboring Kyrgyzstan hit early Wednesday some 22 miles (35 kilometers) from the eastern Uzbek city of Ferghana, which has more than 200,000 people.
