PML-Q legislator Marvi Memon has resigned from National Assembly (NA) seat.
Sources said that Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had expressed his grave concerns over the activities being pursued by Marvi Memon since last two months as she not only met PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan but also participated in sit-ins besides giving statements against party policy. She was served show cause notices twice but she did not give reply to these notices.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had directed Marvi Memon to resign from the seat of the National Assembly; therefore, she handed over her resignation to NA speaker Fahmida Mirza a day earlier.
The sources added that PML-Q leadership had already decided to expel Marvi Memon from party and finalised the name of new legislator in her place.
PML-Q has decided to elect Tanzeela Aamir Cheema, daughter-in-law of federal minister Chaudhry Anwar Ali Cheema, on the reserved seats of women in the assembly.
