MULTAN,June 25th: National Accountability Bureau Punjab has summoned District Police Officer Muzaffargarh Rao Munir Ahmed Zia to appear before the Investigation Officer Malik Waheed Ahmed Assistant Director at NAB complex on June 28th at 10-00 am for recording his version regarding allegations levelled by the plaintiffs and to give such informations relating to the said alleged offence as he may possess.In a letter No. 1(9) HQ/784/T-25/1W-II/307/NAB-P dated June 20, the Director IW-II Sqn Leader (retd)Muhammad Irshad-ul-Haq addressed to Regional Police Office Dera GHazi Khan,it was stated that the presence of DPO Muzaffargarh is necessary for the inquiry against Sultan Mehmood proprieter of Sialkot Suzuki Motors, Sialkot and others into the offences alleged to have been committed under the provision of National Accountability Ordinance 1999.During thecourse of proceedings many affectees of the said scam alleged that DPO Rao Munir Ahmed Zia misused/ abused his authority ,while posted as SP Sialkot,received monetary benefits from the accused by providing them undue benfits at the cost of affectees.He had unlawfully deployed state functionaries/ Police personnels in uniform as well as in civil dress at the premises of Suzuki Sialkot motors show room etc.
