Provincial Minister for Communication and Works and PPP Provincial President Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani called the JUI-F a ëterroristí party in a press conference, which he called on Tuesday afternoon soon after he staged a walkout from the Balochistan Assembly along with other party provincial ministers. He alleged that the JUI was adopting an anti-government stance and policies.
Sadiq Umrani told the media men that the JUI-F was promoting terrorism and was involved in corruption and corrupt practices. However, he did not elaborate his point in his press conference that was called in a haste.
He demanded expulsion of the JUI-F from the Balochistan cabinet. The PPP minister charged that the JUI was actively running terrorist camps in Balochistan, besides backing the Taliban in Afghanistan.
He alleged that the JUI had made a semi-government within the provincial government, which was imposing its policies. He added that since there is a coalition government in the province, the JUI should not impose its own policies on the government.
He also alleged that the JUI was spending 60 percent of the total budget of Balochistan on organisational activities. In addition, it was also utilising some 26 percent resources of the province on building Madaris (religious seminaries). He said that JUI was a terrorist party, and had no right to remain in power and must be thrown out of the provincial cabinet.
However, Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani defended his major coalition partner, saying that the allegations leveled by Sadiq Umrani on JUI have no grounds. Flanked by Senior Minister Maulana Abdul Wasey of the JUI-F, Nawab Raisani mentioned that the JUI would be approaching the court of law against the allegations of being a ëterroristí party levelled against it by Umrani.
On the occasion, Raisani clarified that he is the Parliamentary Leader of the PPP in the Balochistan Assembly and not Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani.
Senior JUI-F minister Maulana Abdul Wasey responded calmly to the outburst of Sadiq Umrani, saying that the party had served the masses and helped Nawab Raisani form his government in the province and provided him support. Wasey questioned as to why Umrani levelled such allegations after three years of the JUI being in the government.
