18 million people,15,847 villages affected in flood in Pakistan-UN

 At least 18,184,550 have been affected by the last year flash floods, at least 1,743,926 homes destroyed or damaged in different parts of the country while at least 15,847 villages have been affected, says a United Nations humanitarian update.
According to the UN data, over 7.1 million people in Sindh, 6 million in Punjab, 3.8 million people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 700,000 in Balochistan, 200,000 in Pakistan-administered Kashmir (AJK) and 100,000 in Gilgit-Baltistan are among the affectees. The break-up of destroyed or damaged homes include 876,249 houses in Sindh, 497,700 in Punjab, 280,094 in KP, 79,596 in Balochistan, 5149 in Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA), 2830 in GB and 6308 in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. As many as, 7,277 villages in Sindh, 3,132 in Punjab, 2,834 in KP, 2,604 in Balochistan and 347 villages are affected by floods in GB.
Around 18m survivors were affected An area of 50,000 square km was ravaged; over 2.2m hectares ruined. At least 1.7m homes destroyed so far, approximately 1.1m households got emergency shelter, says the UN update.
