Two dead bodies that had been found dumped in the Aap Sar area of Turbat two days ago were identified on Thursday as being those of Baloch Republican Party (BRP) Central Informational Secretary Jalel Reki and Baloch National Movement (BNM) activist Mohammad Younus.
According to relatives, Jalil Reki was whisked away on February 13, 2009, by a group of armed men from Sariab Road after Friday prayers.
The BRP announced a three-day shutter down strike across the Balochistan and 40 days of mourning to condemn the killing of its leader.
According to the victim’s father, an FIR was registered at Shalkot Police Station, against the then inspector general of Frontier Corps (FC), Major General Saleem Nawaz, and an official of a secret agency for their alleged involvement in whisking away the BRP central leader near his residence.
A local constructor, Muhammad Younus, was a resident of Tasp in Panjgur. His body was handed over to his relatives and was shifted to his ancestral town in Panjgur for burial. The body of Jalil Reki, which bore multiple marks of torture, was also shifted to Quetta.
