PMA Multan demand a special salary package

MULTAN,April 20th:The Multan chapter of the Pakistan Medical Association on Wednesday demanded that Prime Minster Yousuf Raza Gillani should get a special remuneration package for doctors approved by the Federal Cabinet and implement it across Pakistan.
Addressing a press conference here PMA President Dr Shahid Rao urged the government to implement regular service structure for the doctors with time scale promotions from the forthcoming fiscal year.Dr Shahid also urged the government to implement the summary approved by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif regarding service structure reforms. He said that principals of medical institutions must be appointed on seniority and fitness basis.
PMA president further said that the Association in its general body meeting in December 2010 had demanded a special salary package for doctors. The PMA had demanded Rs35,000 salary for a house officer, Rs 80,000 for PGR/MO, Rs 1,50,000 for a senior registrar/SMO, Rs 2,00,000 for APMO/assistant professor, Rs 2,50,000 for associate professor, Rs 3,00,000 for professors, Rs 1,50,000 for specialist cadre doctors of Grade 18, Rs 2,00,000 for Grade 19 and Rs 2,50,000 salary for a doctor of Grade 20.
