Following the Supreme Court’s suo motu case hearing, Rangers and police carryied out over 2500 raids, and arrested over 1200 suspected people, including 88 target killers and 38 extortionists, from various areas of the metropolis within the past one and half months, media reported on Thursday.
Incidents of target killing intensified during the month of August as 101 citizens were kidnapped and mercilessly butchered between August 18 and 22. Reacting to the gory situation, the Supreme Court took notice of the volatile situation and started hearing the case in the city.
During the span of one and half month, Rangers and police personnel conducted search operations and sting operations in the affected areas and arrested over 1200 miscreants, including 88 target killers.
Heavy caches of arms and ammunitions were also recovered during such actions.
