Former foreign minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday said that the PPP was going to appoint such personality as Deputy Prime Minister whose name was given by Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto as her would be killer in her e-mail to Mark Saigol.PPP should not rush into a coalition with the Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) which was once called "Qatil league" by the PPP..
Speaking to media representatives at the Multan airport, Qureshi said that according to his assessment, a coalition between the PPP and the PML-Q would not last long because both parties were playing the game of cat and rat.Qureshi said that Benazir Bhutto had given the lesson of reconciliation not the lesson of hypocricy. There was a vast difference between the hypocricy and politics of reconciliation.
“Most PPP senators and workers are uneasy over the possibility of an alliance with the PML-Q…Raza Rabbani’s statement on the issue is also now public,” Qureshi said.
He further said that if the PML-Q “really wants” a coalition, then it should focus on assisting the government on getting the budget passed, instead of focusing on ministries and privileges.
Regarding the position of the Deputy Prime Minister, Qureshi said creating the post would lead to conflicts among the government departments as well as the bureaucracy. He appreciated the role of MQM which had promised to extend unconditional support to the Government if it avoided to put burden on the masses in next budget. While PML_Q had agreed to implement the IMF conditionalities against power sharing.Talking to the media in Multan, former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the PPP and the PML-Q coalition was not conciliation but hypocrisy. He stated that the government’s agreement with Q-league was to protract its rule and approve the coming budget. He suggested that President Asif Ali Zardari should improve the circle of his advisers as he had already faced defeats on the issue of judges’ reinstatement and Higher Education Commission.
