Fahim's brother says, Diyat accepted without any pressure’

The elder brother of Fahim, who was killed along with his friend by CIA contractor Raymond Davis in Lahore in January, said on Friday “we were under no pressure to strike the blood money deal” and that the United States was not directly involved in it.Talking exclusively to SouthPunjabNews from an undisclosed location, Akram said government officials had told them about the pros and cons of continuing with the case and “we took the decision of accepting the money for the sake of Pakistan”.
“We were told Pakistan’s fate will be no different from that of Libya if the Davis case goes on,” Akram explained. He declined to answer a question about the role of the Punjab government in the case, saying he knew nothing about it.
Akram said his family had gone into hiding after the deal because of security concerns. “My family will come out of hiding in due time.”
