Explosive laden vehicle rammed into DIG's residence in Quetta

An explosives laden vehicle rammed into the wall of DG police investigation, Wazir Khan Nasir’s home on Gulistan Road, killed at least one and injured nine others according to initial reports on Thursday from  cop was killed and 13 people injured including DIG Investigation when a suicide bomber smashed explosive laden vehicle into DIG Investigation Wazir Khan Nasir ’s house here in Gulistan road near Police line, Quetta on Thursday.
As per details, a suicide bomber rammed the explosive laden vehicle into the DIG Investigation Wazir Khan Nasir’s house near Police line killing security guard Nasir Khan on the spot and injuring the 13 other people including DIG Investigation Wazir Khan, his son Zubair Khan, his daughters Laiba and Iqra, Muhammad Ghafoor, Jahangeer Khan, Muhammad Khan, Moosa Khan and Azad Khan.
Sources told that 2-D car and 200 kilogram explosive material was used in the suicide bombing which badly destroyed nearly situated buildings.
The blast badly damaged the DIG’s residential and nearly situated two bungalows, 8 vehicles and a motorbike. The blast created a big crater in the land.
Soon after the incident the bomb disposal squads, security forces and police cordoned off the area and started rescue work. The body parts of the suicide bomber and parts of the vehicles used in the bombing have been collected for investigation.
The police seized 4 mortar shells from the bombing site. Capital City Police Officer Daood Ahmad Junajo, DI Quetta Operation Hamid Shakeel, Commandant Frontier Corps rushed at the site for inspection.
Talking to media Capital City Police Officer Daood Ahmad Junajo confirmed that the suicide bomber smashed the explosive laden vehicle into DIG’s house killing a policeman and injuring several other people.
It is relevant to mention here that more than 250 people including security men were killed and hundreds of people sustained serious injuries in suicide attacks occurred in Quetta from 2004 to till now while the militants had targeted Chief and provincial Ministers houses.
