The arrested bomber of the Sakhi Sarwar shrine in Dera Ghazi Khan, apologised to the Pakistani nation on Friday and said that he had been told to bomb the areas of non-Muslims.
During investigations, Omar told officials that there were 300 people receiving suicide bombing training in the militant hideouts of North Waziristan. He said that these included Uzbeks, Tajiks, Arabs and Punjabis.
Omar said that he used to be blindfolded and taken for training. He said that the in-charge of the camp was Commando Sangeen Khan who used to constantly be away on travel.He also disclosed that the second bombing was supposed to take place between the rescue and media teams.
RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Ahmed Mubarak said,"Sixteen suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the twin suicide blasts at the shrine of sufi saint Sakhi Sarwar in DG Khan so far,"He said that Omar's father died in bomb blast in Karachi,his uncle is a Dumper driver in Karachi while his maternal uncle is serving in Militia force.RPO said," Three locals are involved in this tragic incident who had provided logistic support, as well as they were mastermind.Omar disclosed the names of Naeem-ullah, Ayyaz and Zara Ali.He said that Omar's condition is not better however, Doctors are trying to save his life. Omar Fidai (13)son of Muhammad Akbar khan,the suicide bomber, had been arrested at the spot on the day of the blast,has confessed the crime before the investigation team comprised on the officers of Police ,Border Military Police (BMP) and secret agencies and said that there were more than 300 teenagers in a training camp of Mir Ali (Waziristan) who were being trained by commander Sangeen Khan .They are kept in separate rooms .He said that Ten suicide bombers entered into Punjab from Dera Ismail Khan on March 27,2011.One of the investigator told with the condition of anonymity that we had reached to the local abettors who had provided logistic support to suicidal bombers. They were told that they were being sent to Afghanistan for crusade.Four of them (he, Abdul Aziz ,Muttaqi and Abdullah Dawar were handed over Naeem Ahmed who took them to Dera Ghazi Khan and he kept them in Al-Madina Hotel.Where they saw cricket match on television.On First April (Friday)Naeem-ullah and Zara Ali took them to Sakhi Sarwar in a van.We thoroughly checked the entire shrine of Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar. It was our recky visit.He told the investigators that there was a huge rush of devotees on Friday.There would have been hundreds of casualties had we attacked that day.but we were without necessary goods.According to him, we reached at the shrine on Sunday (April 3rd)in a van alongwith Zara Ali and Naeem ullah. Suicide jackets and Hand grenades were in bags which were in the custody of both Naeemullah and Zara Ali .They took them to a room at the shrine where they provided them jackets and 20,20 kg explosive material including hand grenades.They also gave them necessary instructions.Omar Fidai said He made a small explosion as per plan to divert the attention of security agencies.As soon as I made an explosion, A security man opened fire,resultantly his second arm injured and he fell on the ground then other security men overpowered him.In the meantime, Abdullah Dawar blew himself at the walk-through gate.Police has obtained the school certificate of the injured suicide bomber of Sakhi Sarwar Shrine in Dera Ghazi Khan. Initial investigations reveal that 10 suicide bombers including the captured bomber had been sent to different parts of the country.According to his school card, Fidai is the son of Akbar Khan and a student of class seven in Noor public school Husso Khel, Waziristan.Fidai belongs to the Khari village of Mir Ali and sources say that four people including him were sent to DG Khan for suicide attacks. They were shown the shrine two days prior to the eventual suicide attack on April 3.
