The PML-Q candidate Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari has won the by-polls of NA-172 by securing 57,446 votes on Tuesday.According to unofficial results, Hafiz Abdul Karim of the PML-N bagged 37,071 votes while Shabbir Ahmed Khan Leghari of the PPP got 15,720 votes.
The NA-172 was vacated after the death of former president of Pakistan Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari MNA in October 2010.Awais Khan Leghari .He is a former federal minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication.It was a test of both ruling parties i.e PPP and PML-N and both had secured low votes.
